About Graeme
I enjoy the benefits of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through exercise and nutrition - in other words I practice what I preach. My preferred form of training is based on functional and practical movements that relate to what we do in our everyday lives. It's safe and you can achieve results with as little as one session per week
It's not just my way or the highway though. I'm always willing to discuss, develop and implement innovative training techniques. In fact I really enjoy the challenge of finding out and putting into practice what works best for you.
Did you know I once developed side rollers to simulate a kayaking motion for concept II rowing machines? Of course you didn't but this is one example of how I've used lateral thinking to develop specialist training techniques.
I'm always learning and regularly attend seminars, research professional exercise websites and talk to other trainers, nutritionists, doctors and physiotherapists about how we can do things better.
I'm formally qualified too, in case you were wondering.
- Diploma in Physical Education (Otago) - in the days before a degree was available
- Diploma in Teaching (Auckland)
- Head of Physical Education at Takapuna Grammar and Orewa College for 20+ years
- Member of Fitness New Zealand REPs - registered exercise professionals
- Qualified Personal Trainer, Les Mills Auckland 1996 to present
But that's enough about me. Read on to learn more about the serious stuff - your health and wellbeing!
